Glowing Cubic Text

This photoshop tutorial will teach you how to achieve this glowing cubic text effect:

Step 1

Create a blank document, the example is 400x300px

Black background. White foreground.

Type your text in a bolf font.

Apply Filter --> Blur --> Gaussian Blur with a radius of something like 3.

This is what it will look like now:

 

Hit CTRL-E to merge the layers.

Step 2

Duplicate your layer and select the upper layer.

Apply Filter --> Pixelate --> Mosaic and apply these settings:

Now set the layer's opacity to 50 percent and use Filter --> Sharpen --> Sharpen three or four times.

Press CTRL-E again to merge the layers.

Step 3

Now bring up Hue/Saturation by pressing CTRL-U and pick a color.

These settings will get you the example's flashy blue:

There you go, you'll end up with this:
